170 Applications: The Need For Proton’s 3S/4S Upgrades

Automobile company Perusahann Otomoobil Nasional Sdn Bhd, otherwise known as Proton, has recently received exactly 170 applications for the upgrades of two of their existing models, the 3S and 4S, over the past 3 months. From those applications, so far 66 of them have been evaluated and approved.

In a statement on Monday, April 16, the automobile giant told that the dealers network needed upgrading as part of the company initiative to ensure synergy. This was after an acquisition of shares by China’s Zhejiang Geely Holdings Group (also known as Geely). 49.9 percent of them in fact.

The idea with this adoption of Geely will allow Proton access to the audit scoring system that Geely has. This audit system is also the very same adaptation of a system used by Volvo Cars and their cars. This system has already helped Proton in identifying issues and through fixing them, they’ve strengthened their audit scores for all of their models.

They’ve also announced that they are expecting further initiatives as the year goes on. They’re looking at building cars to the point that they can match other quality premium car manufacturers.

While we are waiting for further developments, the company is already has made another statement as well. Proton stated that for the month of April, they are offering offer zero percent financing on the first year for those who purchase either Proton Iriz, Proton Ertiga, Proton Exora, or anyone who signs for a five-year loan with Hong Leong Bank.

Hong Leong Bank is a bank based in Malaysia that provides regional financial services. It’s part of the Hong Leong Group, and is a financial partner of Proton too.

Any variant of the Proton Ertiga, and Proton Exora are available for zero percent financing, however only the Executive and Premium variants of Proton Iriz are available for the financing.

Also for the Proton Saga and Persona purchases, Proton has stated that the buyers will receive a free body kit. These body kits are only available for any bookings during the month of April. Also only the Premium CVT models of each vehicle will be able to receive these.

On top of that, Proton announced that rebates are available for their other models within the Proton range. There are also many other generous incentives that are left for their remaining car stocks that were made in 2017.

For some background, Proton is a Malaysia-based automobile corporation. They design, manufacture, distribute and sell their Proton line of cars. They currently have 8 models currently in circulation: Proton Saga, Proton Persona, Proton Iriz, Proton Ertiga, Proton Preve, Proton Suprima S, Proton Exora, and Proton Perdana. Proton started to grow rapidly in the 90s and up to 2016 thanks in part to exporting the cars to the UK, eventually thriving in their main country of Malaysia, selling almost 4 million cars by this time.

Due to it’s wide-spread popularity, it makes sense Proton is making moves and claims like they are doing this month.
